Craig Masback

Craig Masback (born 31 March 1955) is a retired American middle distance runner who specialized in the 1500 metres. After retiring he became a noted sports official.

He was born in 1955.[1] Masback became US Indoor champion in the mile run in 1980.[2] He won two bronze medals in the 1500 metres at the AAA Championships, in 1978 and 1981,[3] and another bronze medal at the 1985 Pacific Conference Games.[4] He also competed at the 1985 IAAF World Cup.

His personal best times were 3:35.28 minutes in the 1500 metres, achieved in 1982, and 3:52.02 in the mile run, achieved in July 1979 at Bislett stadion in Oslo.[5]

In the late 1990s Masback was hired as chief executive officer for USA Track & Field. He resigned in 2008 to become Director of Business Affairs for Nike's Global Sports Marketing Division.[5]
